Healing with Cupping
Cupping, an ancient healing technique has been used in many cultures.
The suction of Cupping pulls toxic build-up and tension from deeper layers to the surface of the body.
As we breathe, our body uses oxygen and releases carbon dioxide. The lymph system filters out harmful substances, waste products and abnormal cells. A build up of these waste products, as well as the blocked flow of Qi (Life energy) and blood, can create discomfort. This stagnation makes it more difficult to prevent further blockage and pain.
The negative pressure created by the suction of Cupping clears and nourishes. It pulls out blockages, tension and inflammation from the underlying tissues, to the skin’s surface, while drawing fresh new blood, nutrients and oxygen into the tissues, restoring the vitality and flow of Qi and blood.
Cupping is diagnostic as well as therapeutic. The skin under the cups changes color with muscle spasms and toxic buildup; the skin will not change color if the issue involves bones or nerves. The darker the color change, the longer it may take for the color to disperse.
A Typical Cupping Session takes about 10 minutes
